Your eyes do not deceive you. It is indeed a new post on the original DTM Blog.
I closed the book on this blog about four years ago and am amazed that it's still up despite having been dormant for that long as well as recent higher end changes at the Tripod organization... but it's compounded by the fact that I'm actually crafting a new post onto this webspace that has been my home on the Internet since 2000-ish. Starting life as Dave's Homepage before eventually evolving into the DTM Webstation and eventually DTM Blog, this is where I'd share interests and other points of reference here and there.
Then I came across Blogger, which had a more friendlier blog crafting toolbox, especially in light of Youtube and things of that nature being the norm for the future. So this stuck around for a bit before eventually being left behind with sporadic posts.
From 2004 to 2013, there's been 1244 posts over the years.
At some point, I came to thinking, "Why didn't I close the book on a nice even number of posts?"
So this is the goal of this final stretch of posts from now until the end of the year; a series of six posts that will close the blog out on 1250 posts, which is a nicer number to end it on.
At the same time, I'm also greatly considering using the space around the website to turn this space into something of a memorium. Possibly even load up the old Frontpage software I used to build the site for old times' sake. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, but never had the time to do so.
Anyhoo, expect a couple more token posts along the way before the year's up and then I promise we will FINALLY close the book on this blog and give it a proper epilogue of sorts.
