1238 - Is This Blog Retired Or Just Tired?
Topic: Web Presence News

Surprise, surprise. Roughly two years after I retired this blog, I'm still posting. Probably because I would very much like to close this thing out on 1250. Possibly.

You'll probably notice on the front page something about a restoration due on a date that has long passed. While I would blame it on procrastination that the due date was missed, the truth was that I never knew about the due date; a friend of mine had temporary access to the blog space and uploaded the page without my knowing. He meant no harm, but I did have to take back some control.

So despite the bold proclamation, there is no planned "restoration" or whatever the case has been. I still haven't even touched the 100megsfree5 space that used to be the Webstation. If something does come to mind on a archival restoration, you'll find out here... or on the other blog.

Will post a couple more times here before we "officially" close the book on the original DTM Blog.

1237 - Surprise update... shocking, isn't it?
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Web Presence News

Your eyes do not deceive you. This is an actual update after several months of not updating and after several more months of retiring this blog.

Before anyone asks, yes, this blog is still very much retired. No, I will not be returning to regular updating of this blog. And no, it's not going anywhere until Tripod deems it necessary to shut this place down and make room for whatever funny ideas they have going on. And no doubt once that happens... gone for good, I suppose. Tripod never had any decent archiving options here as far as blogging goes, which is a bit of a shame.

So I guess I should probably bring some people up to date since the last time I made an update here;

  1. My current blog, The Twisted Realm Of DTM, can be found here. Originally, that was going to be the name of my personal site, but somewhere along the way, I decided that maintaining a website, even on a free space littered with countless ads, is too much work with little return. So I've opted to settle exclusively on making the blog my focal point. I've been uploading quite a few old stuff there and it makes for much more convenient navigating of specific items, such as YouTube videos and the like. And for a blog that has only been around for a couple years, it's already amassed over five-hundred entries. Pretty impressive numbers. In any case, this is where I'm doing all my updates.
  2. Subsequently, I also have a second blog called DTM Review Archive (click here), which is essentially a working-in-progress archive of all the reviews I have done thus far, whether they'd be game reviews, movie reviews, or whatnot. It's worth checking out if you have the chance, although I still post stuff on the regular blog.
  3. I've slowly begun posting a number of YouTube videos since 2009 (channel is crisisded). Generally no real theme or anything, it comprises game reviews, video commentaries, vlogs, and other random crap that I can put up there. One of the major reasons I switched from Tripod to Blogger is because of the relative ease Blogger offered in embedding videos or inputting any kind of HTML code; Tripod's a little more archaic in nature and was a pain in the ass to embed anything of the sort into the code.
  4. Alternatively, I've also opened up a Dailymotion account (can be found here) in case the YouTube account goes belly-up. Not much content there at the moment, but it's something.
And that's all the "up-to-speed" stuff that I can think of... as far as this web space goes... the blog is still going to be here. I'm also considering moving the old Bite archives to this site (I've kept the pages and no doubt will keep the formatting as is.) There's other stuff planned, but mostly background stuff.

Truth be told, I would like to sneak a post or two here from time to time... but we'll see in the long run.

So again, thanks for the memories. Maybe I'll come again soon... maybe.

1231 - Bite Commentary for last week... oops
Topic: Web Presence News

Just for the sake of clarity, the newest Bite commentary can be found here:

This commentary was written on January 21st and posted the next day, so most of this stuff is probably outdated by the time I'm posting the link here. Suffice it to say, I'll be posting Bite commentaries on that other Blog for the immediate moment.

So what happens to the main site? It's still coming and right now, I'm currently aiming for sometime in mid to late February. All things being considered though, it's not really a priority at the moment. Most of the stuff that's going to be archived there can be found on either my FF.Net, GameFAQs, or IMDB pages. And some of the older stuff might even see reposts on the blogs.

There WILL be a site for sure. I just can't say when.

1220 - Quick Notes And Updates
Topic: Web Presence News

Hope that everybody's got a good New Year. Now it's time to get back to work, I suppose. Hopefully, that means a new focus on the various web-projects.

Regarding the remainder of fanfiction "remastering" updates:
I still have two more updates left to do, which I'll posting one story a week throughout the rest of this month. Next Thursday will see Plague re-uploaded with a new ending, followed by Eighth Coin a week later. As for the 2010 Final Cut edition of Beginnings, I'll hold over on that until I get a chance to see the "reversioned" MMPR that aired... presumably when it eventually gets uploaded on YouTube.

Speaking of which, I saw the new opening on DailyMotion and I've got to give Disney credit; they've somehow managed to make an opening to a cheesy show from 1993 even cheesier. I cringe for the final product, but as long as the younger kids get into it (after all, they are the target audience) and some older folks manage to check it out, I suppose it's okay.

Regarding the "new" fanfiction:
Seems like I've been touting this forever... say, wait a minute. I HAVE. Wait until March. I mean it, this time.

Regarding the Twisted Realm website:
Planned on getting it up today, but decided to hold off another month to make sure everything works and stuff. This is directly related to the fanfiction re-upload delay as well as... you know, THE HOLIDAYS.

Regarding the YouTube Channel:
Some minor game-related stuff has already been uploaded to the channel. I'm presently getting some quick material ready for the site which will possibly see regular updates in a couple months. What kind of stuff? Well, just wait and see.

I had some other ideas, but I can't get to them right now. Will follow up with another "news update" or something later.

Until then... enjoy 2010.

1209 - Writing from someone else's computer to bring you this important update
Topic: Web Presence News
I've been infected with rather nasty malicious software. Thus I'll be busy for the weekend and won't be able to make any scarce updates. Apologies.

1187 - First non-trailer Video Up
Topic: Web Presence News

First non-trailer video has been posted - it's a quick vid showing off the differences between the NES and Virtual Console versions of the final battle in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. I doubt it's the first video of its kind (I haven't found any) but I hope it's a help to someone... anyone... out there.

Click here to view the video. (will open in a new window)

1175 - crisisded - September 2009 Trailer
Topic: Web Presence News
Not much to add to the proceedings, other than the fact that if there was any doubt as to whether I'm going ahead with this video posting deal, please cast it aside. This is proof that I'm going ahead with this. I'll have more details on the next "trailer" as well as on the Bite commentary for this month, which should be posted in a couple weeks.

1172 - Hiatus
Topic: Web Presence News

I'm taking a rather indefinite hiatus regarding all web projects. Outside of the occasional blog post and Bite commentary, EVERYTHING IS ON HOLD.

I just got too much emotional shit to deal with here.

1140 - IMPORTANT NOTICE: Black Hole Reviews, Fanfictions, Webstation, whatever
Topic: Web Presence News

Things haven't been going as planned, so here's a bit of a news update.

For the next month of June, all online operations (save for the Blog) will be on temporary hiatus. This will allow me to catch up on some content on the backburner for quite a bit, including a whole bunch of reviews, features, fanfics, original fics, and whatnot.

Now the Webstation has been shut down and will stay shut down for the better part of the month. The reason for this is because there'll be some restructuring on the way things are being done and so I'll be cleaning everything out. Basically, the layout and linking of elements will be the first thing to be worked on in regards to the site and then content will follow. The site will look the same (somewhat) but will clean up a lot of crap that has plagued it in recent months. Hopefully, the hiatus won't be for months on end.

With regards to fan/original fiction, I'm (very) slowly trying to get back into the groove of things. I'll be starting off with a couple one-shot posts on both FF.Net and some other site for the original story. I still intended on starting the long-agonizingly-delayed Keonoke Chronicles story this year and hope to get it ready for next year. As far as the fanfics go... well, we'll wait and see for now.

If all goes well, things should get better by Canada Day. In the meantime, have fun.

1128 - Quick notes
Topic: Web Presence News

- The Bite commentary will be posted next Wednesday. You've already read half of it when I posted my 'Mania thoughts, but there's some extra stuff worth noting.

- The Webstation will undergo a revision some time next week and will be shut down as a result. Bite commentaries will be accessible during this time... so no worries there. I'm also working out a system where I can get content done and make regular bi-weekly updates to the site. More details to come.

- I'll be resuming regular features that have been abandoned sometime next month. I just hit a wall recently.

That's about it for now.

1124 - Normal Operations will resume in May
Topic: Web Presence News

As you might have noticed, things have been a bit slow here on the blog with infrequent updates. I haven't completely abandoned things here, but I'm just going through some tough times right now. As soon as I'm done going through my shit, expect irregular updates to happen soon. Presumably, I'll have something ready in time for the new Star Trek movie when that hits.

Until then... take care or something.

1118 - New Bite commentary
Topic: Web Presence News

Just thought you should know that a new Bite commetary has been posted. Another one will be posted next week in time for 'Mania.

Speaking of Mania, we begin the countdown to Wrestlemania 25 with some stuff. Tune in tomorrow for the first Mania thingy.

1116 - Brief Update
Topic: Web Presence News

The video that I said was going to pop up this month? Not happening.

The Webstation upgrade that I said was going to happen? It's still going to happen, but probably not any time soon.

The Bite commentary? End of the month, at best.

The onslaught of reviews? None of them are ready... yet.

The fanfic of which I have no shared details about? It'll be up on the Blog in two weeks.

See? Everything is going as planned.

1114 - Working on a couple videos now...
Topic: Web Presence News

Using basic movie editing crap software, a voice recorder, a DVD recorder, and a couple other stuff, I'm currently hard at work at developing hard-hitting stuff for that YouTube page I have but never put stuff on it.

Don't know exactly when any of this shit is going to be ready, but I'll let you know.

1110 - Checklist of updates for this month
Topic: Web Presence News

A quick list of intended updates for the month:

  • A Bite commentary commenting on events
  • A revamp of the Webstation (a working design is done - just need to fill it with working content)
  • Some new reviews on various games, comics, and movies - might include the new Watchmen flick.
  • A fanfic or two might be posted this month (or next month). Won't say what yet.
  • Perhaps the most daunting of all - the first video blog. More details to come soon...
Will keep in touch soon... Later.

1096 - Reviews?
Topic: Web Presence News
Looking over the Webstation's review section, I noticed some sections are missing entirely despite having active links. This will be rectified in an update this week, which will also coincidentally include some new/old reviews. Let ya know when it gets there.

1092 - Not historical, but awe-inspiring anyway... AN UPDATE
Topic: Web Presence News
So the Webstation was updated last night with some minor content additions... mostly the uploading of the old Smokeranger site and some 2004 Bite commentaries returned. I'll be posting Rumble picks some time this weekend and a new Bite commentary will follow soon afterwards.

1062 - For the curious... GAME LIST COMING SOON
Topic: Web Presence News
I'm currently working the final kinks of my video game list and may post it on the Webstation some time this week for those interested in knowing what I have. Apparently, this is something that has gotten steam somehow. It's not a huge collection of Handsome Tom proportions, but I think it's modestly fine.
